FAQ

GKR Company

Q: What does Gori Ki Rasoi mean?
A: Gori’s Kitchen

Q: Is your name Gori?
A: No, the name started as a nickname/joke. My name is Summer.

Q: Is your food Indian, Pakistani or Afghani?
A: I suppose it depends on how old of a map you’re looking at! Really I love to make everything from an Afghani-style namkeen ghosht that is minimally spiced and cooked slowly so that the natural flavors and texture of the meat steal the show… but I also love South Indian sambar that relies on a heavy spiced tadka and really gets you sweating.

Ordering

Q: What are your hours?
A: Currently we sell lunch on Fridays from 12-1:00PM. We also ocassionally do pop up events and events in the community. Expect our hours to change as we expand.

You make pick your order up from COMO cooks during the scheduled pick up time or select delivery. The ordering system will select the most affordable third party delivery service available to fulfill your order.

Q: What is the charge for delivery?
A:  The fee is determined by the delivery partner. The system automatically selects the most affordable one.

Q: How do I order?
A: Visit gori-ki-rasoi.square.site and begin by choosing pick up or delivery. These will be pre-orders. Once you place your order, you have reserved your meal. To reserve a Friday meal, the order must be placed before noon the preceding Thursday.

Q: Do you plan to expand your offering times?
A: Absolutely! The plan is to expand our offering selections and availability as soon as possible, but never at the expense of quality. We will expand as and when we feel confident that we can meet higher demand while providing the same level of quality food and service. Customer feedback will guide the expansion process.

Q: When do new menus become available?
A: Every Sunday, a new weekly menu will be released. Most of the items will be repeating regular items, but every week will feature a special dish and/or dessert that is only offered occasionally. These dishes may be less restaurant style and more “home style” or “dhaba style.”

Food

Q: Is your food halal?
A: All lamb and goat dishes are halal. Chicken dishes may be made halal by request for an upcharge of $2.00. This is to cover the significantly higher cost of halal chicken. Please leave this request in the Notes field of the order.

Q: How is the food packed?
A: All temperature-sensitive foods are packed in sealed thermal bags to help maintain ideal temperature during transport. Food is served in high quality food grade recyclable leakproof plastic containers.
